Responsibilities:
# Working directly on application / technical problem identification and resolution, including off-shift and weekend support functions
# Participating in integrated testing and user acceptance of application or infrastructure components
# Working with vendors on the integration of purchased application(s) and/or infrastructure
# Designing and implementing processes, or process improvements, to aid in development and support
# Monitor Remedy queue and group inboxes for new requests.
# Monitor notifications for application errors, warnings and server availability.
# Serve as SME for end-user questions and requests for assistance.
# Periodically modify FlexNet license & options files per customer or vendor request.
# Investigate customer licensing / access issues.
# Perform scheduled upgrades, patch installations, etc.

Required Qualifications:
# Computer-related or Engineering-related four year College or University Degree (or equivalent)
# Zero to two years of progressively responsible IT job-related experiences
# Knowledge of the latest technology in programming languages, computing hardware & software and current development processes and tools

Desired Qualifications:
# IT experience related to programming, integration or infrastructure
# Computer related or Engineering related Masters degree
# Experience managing License Management applications (FlexNet, FlexLM, RLM, Sentinel, etc.), working with vendors on license renewals, and working with application owners & end users on license related issues.
# Experience managing Notification & Alerting systems (TelAlert or similar)and working with end users on alerting related issues.
# Systems Administration experience with Windows Server (2003/2008) & Red Hat Enterprise Linux (5 & 6)
# Cross-functional application administration experience with understanding of client/server configurations
# Experience with PERL or UNIX shell scripting
# Knowledge of LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, etc
# Strong technical skills and experience with various information technology environments
# Troubleshooting and self driven problem diagnosis & resolution skills
# Knowledge of ITSM processes (incident, change, and problem)
# Ability to effectively work across multiple organizational groups with a working knowledge of Caterpillar’s technical infrastructure (Application/Server/Network/Database)
